About Callum Carter

Callum Carter is one of the rising stars of British Quad Motocross racing. Callum was born on the 24th of August 1997; this makes Callum to date ONLY...! 12 years old.

Callum lives with his mother Lindsay and his older brother Max and younger sister Ffyion and goes to school in Newcastle Emlyn. He comes from a motorsport background and his father, Ian Carter, the legendary Maxspeed Motorsport guru in West Wales, is always with him at quad meetings as his chief technician.

In the summer of 2004, Callum started competing in junior quad racing for the first time. These events are packed with eager competitors, some as young as 4. But these youngsters are surprisingly skilled and very competitive, riding powerful machines that are specially tuned to reach speeds of up to 40mph. Callum started riding a quad at the age of 2 years old. His first quad was a Suzuki LT50 which his farther still builds and modifies for grass track racing for young quad racers wanting to get in there early.

At the moment Callum rides a COBRA ECX70 quad racer tuned by Ed Davies Racing, Provided By Cobra uk, Callum was the first contracted rider by cobra at the age of 10 years old. Callum takes an active part in preparing his bike - deciding on what set up is needed for different events, and has the unusual twist throttle , most ATV riders have a thumb throttle but Callum says you have more control more grip with a twist throttle, Callum also is the youngest rider in the uk to progress to a "shifter" quad most kids are on a automatic system which is just twist and go but Callum has the new cobra manual shift just like the Adult riders.

Quad bikes aren't the only thing Callum loves, he is a very keen swimmer and cross-country runner for Newcastle Emlyn school .
